Pen Storage
I decided that my studio needed some help!
(Actually, the studio is fine ~ it's me that needs help!)
Anyway, I have a ton of pens and markers, etc.
and hated the way they were stored.
So, I found a really cool solution online ~ here is what it looks like now.
Believe it or not this picture does NOT show any of my
Copic Markers and Pens!
My husband and I went to a hardware store and purchased
two 10' lengths of 2" diameter PVC pipe.
Gary cut the pipe into 4-1/2, 4 and 3-1/2 inch sections for me.
He washed them and sanded them ~ great guy!
I wrapped them using scrapbook paper and viola! pen storage!

Tangle/Pattern Cards
For quite some time now I have been
using these Tangle/Pattern Cards
as a way to keep my patterns with me.
They remind me of Paint Chips, so . . .
I call them my Zen Chips!

They are very cool! and extremely useful!
front and back
Whenever I find a new pattern I draw the steps
on the back of the card and then recreate
it on the front. I have a line to write the name of the pattern
and a line to write the designer's name.

Thank you Gary!
I made this mug insert for my husband, Gary.
His favorite tangle is Rick's Paradox ~ by Zentangle, Inc.,
so . . . I just tangled them all together!
I think this was my peace offering for not going
outside to help him shovel snow ~ not that he minded!
He's a great guy and now he has a beautiful mug
to drink his coffee from!

First of many . . .
Seeing Kit's (Dreamscribe Designs) coffee mug inspired me!
I had so much fun doing this ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art)
and the great thing is ~
is that I have already received orders!

Challenge #7 ~ Breathe!
If you haven't participated in the Weekly Challenge ~
START TODAY!
Go to i am the diva web site and take the plunge!
This week's challenge is ~
"Your challenge, should you choose to accept it - is to create
a tile or piece using conscious, even breath. To Relax. Breathe. Smile."
~ The Diva
This instantly popped into my head ~ all I could think of while
doing this challenge was all of the pollen coming from
our cedar trees and that because it is so cold you can see your breath,
sometimes making it hard to BREATHE.
The awesome thing about these challenges is that we all
interpret the challenge differently.
By the way ~ you will relax, breathe and then smile!

Halloween Card
I know it's early! but I was looking for a certain pen and going
through drawers in my studio when I happened upon
this card. I don't throw ANYTHING out which turns out
to be a good thing. This card was begging to be tangled!
Measure black card stock 4-1/2" x 9" ~ fold in half.
Frame a 3-1/2" square white piece of card stock with Halloween ribbon.
The ribbon is really quite orange ~ not dull as shown here.
Secure to front of folded card. Tangle!

Took my time to tell you!
Okay ~ so the suspense got to you!
Here I told you to come back and I would tell you why
Friday the 13th was such a GREAT day!
Well, my daughter, Michele, got married!
No, unfortunately, I did not get to go to the wedding,
she and James, my son-in-law, live in Minnesota. We
are so happy for their union ~ James is such a wonderful
addition to our ever-growing family!
This is the Zentangle I did when Michele and James
moved to MN earlier this year. She would call me as
they traveled and this is what it "looked" like to me.
Michele said that it looks like she felt!

Getting back in the swing . . .
After two very busy months I am back now ~ in full force!
I realized that although the work I was doing was very important,
(I am a volunteer with the American Legion Auxiliary
and Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary),
it is equally, if not more important to make sure that body and mind
are being nurtured and taken care of.
Having said that, I am relaxing back into tangling.
It feels so good to enjoy this wonderful art of Zentangle!

Tangle Variations
Some of the folks I've been teaching just want to
see some simple variations of tangles.
So here is a tangle variation of Crescent Moon & Hollibaugh.
I've created a separate page just forTangle Variations ~ click the link to the left.
